The Waste Management Division is responsible for ensuring that there is proper disposal of waste and wastewater through setting standards, guidelines and enforcing regulations. It is also responsible for the provision of engineering expertise on aspects that deal with designing, construction, operation and maintenance of sewerage systems and other infrastructure for treating or process of waste
DIVISIONS
The section is responsible for the provision of policy direction in the entire process of solid waste management which includes control of generation, storage, collection, transport or transfer, processing and disposal of solid waste materials in a way that best addresses the range of public health, conservation, economics, aesthetic, engineering and other environmental considerations.
The responsibilities of this section are to formulate and develop plans for sewerage infrastructure and other projects within the policies and regulations of Government. It is also responsible for the review of designs and plans of sewerage infrastructure and mechanical plant.
this section is responsible for promotion of proper use and treatment of pit latrines and other on site sanitation facilities
